Emilio Cerezo is one of the leading figures of abstract muralism in Spain and a prominent reference in the international mural art scene. He began his artistic career in the mid-2000s, when he moved to Granada to study Fine Arts, graduating in 2009 with a specialization in painting.
His practice has evolved through different stages, from an expressive figurative approach rooted in color and painterly gesture to an increasingly distilled visual language in which landscapes, interior spaces, and atmosphere coexist with distortion, visual noise, and abstraction. This process of formal refinement has become one of the defining characteristics of his work in recent years, shaping a highly distinctive personal style.
His work has developed a strong connection with public space, where he has created murals for numerous international urban art festivals and events across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the United States, Brazil, and beyond. Alongside his public art practice, he maintains a solid studio-based body of work, exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in cities including Granada, Murcia, Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Turin, Miami, and Tokyo.
For the 19th edition of DesOrdes Creativas, Emilio joins this ongoing dialogue with our territory, bringing his distinctive vision, in which mural painting and artistic research merge with the urban and rural landscapes of Ordes.
