Iván’s mural is part of a series of paintings centered on his practice and passion for the world of motocross. The Catalan artist plays with the dynamics of this sport to subtly express certain vital symbolisms and common emotional situations.

The skid, the fall, the standstill, or the struggle to get out of the mud appear daunting in this difficult race. To get unstuck and cleanse body and soul requires concentration, effort, discipline, and dedication.

Such was also required for the arduous task of this painting, in which the pictorial research to achieve the right gestural and chromatic expressiveness was complex. But the final goal has been more than achieved in this impressionist image, located along As Casillas 27, in a very rural yet urbanized setting by the N-550 road.

Here, subject and composition fit the environment like a motocross glove stained with mud or a muralist’s fingers smeared with paint.
