"Touch paper"

The artist from Ordes returned to the high school where she studied as a child to redefine that old space of her adolescence, a place where she spent so many hours and that new generations will now encounter when they arrive to class every day.

In this new mural, Lidia speaks to us about the current reality in which we are inevitably surrounded by screens at every moment and everywhere. Even in the field of education, they are considered a serious problem, and efforts are being made to reduce their use by returning to traditional educational methods—in other words: books. Yes, those old-fashioned objects built from pages of paper.

When we read or look at a book, we gain infinite possibilities to generate new inner worlds in our imagination and to grow as people on different levels of knowledge.

This mural is a visual metaphor for this idea, in which the protagonist dives into that paper subworld from which new life emerges, and she comes out transformed into a bird—a new reality as a symbol of freedom and of the capacities that knowledge gives us.
