Marta Lapeña enjoys breaking the boundaries between the intimate and the public, bringing to the urban space scenes that usually belong to the interior of homes. She manages to transform the wall into a place of reflection or memory, where the everyday acquires new layers of meaning and a new dimension of emotions through the most ordinary objects.

The vase so cherished by your grandmother Maruxa, strategically placed on the dining room table of that humble yet beautiful house; a gift from your aunt Estrella when she returned from emigrating to Barcelona, which matched perfectly with the fruits of that lemon tree so carefully tended and protected from the winter by the late grandfather Xulio.

This mural transforms that shared public space into a surface where memory is shared, turning into an invitation to remember, to feel, and to recognize ourselves in one another through her sensitive gaze.
The mastery of natural light and the use of clean, saturated color fit chromatically to perfection in a natural context that further enhances her loose and expressive brushstroke.
